SARAH J BIRD is an Artist and Recreation Therapist residing in Omaha, NE. As a recreation therapist, Sarah encouraged residents in skilled nursing communities to find purpose through art, music, and leisure pursuits. Sarah's drive to create was rekindled shortly before the pandemic when she was introduced to the beauty of gold, silver and colored leaf from Pat McDermott, a resident where she worked. Throughout the pandemic, Pat mentored, guided, and solidified Sarah's lifelong dream to pursue art. Pat passed away in October of 2021 and a collaborative gallery exhibition, with Steve Joy (Pat's Mentor), was held in his honor in June of 2022. Sarah has been exhibited at the above mentioned June 2022 Collaboration with Steve Joy and Pat McDermott, at Dvorak Law Group in October 2022, at Pacific Springs from January to March 2023, at Sanford Museum in April 2023, and at Split Gallery BOLD also in April 2023.

Sarah will also speak about the importance of the the senior person staying active. You won't want to miss this event.
