The Vice President of Non-Profit/Advocacy plays a pivotal role in our leadership team, embodying comprehensive, 360-degree leadership with an entrepreneurial mindset tailored for the nonprofit and advocacy sectors. In this dynamic role, the majority of your time will be split between team leadership and business development. You'll oversee daily operations of our Non-Profit/Advocacy team, providing support, coaching and training. Collaborating closely with the COO, CEO and senior leadership, you'll help set and achieve strategic company goals. You'll also manage all financial aspects of your business unit, including preparing reports and handling budgets and financial plans.
On the business development side, you'll seek out new opportunities, implement growth strategies and leverage your industry expertise and network to drive the company forward. Once new business is secured, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring exceptional client services to maintain high levels of client satisfaction and retention. Experience, Skills and Competency Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in the nonprofit or advocacy sector at a senior level; 5+ years of experience managing a department/firm/campaign budget exceeding $2 million.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment, delegate tasks and oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proven experience in managing and achieving revenue targets for a business unit, with a strong track record in sales and growth strategies.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to analyze data and feedback to measure the effectiveness of strategies and adjust tactics accordingly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships, negotiating and the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Impeccable judgment and ability to thrive and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic setting while adapting to changing business needs.
- Proficient presentation skills and ability to handle high-level client interactions.
- Strong understanding of operational processes, systems, and technologies.

Primary Areas of Responsibility
Team Leadership & Management (50%)
- Oversee daily operations and actively collaborate with senior leadership, under the oversight of the COO to ensure alignment and execution of the company’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Lead and mentor the team, providing guidance, coaching, training, and support.
- Manage a team providing existing corporate/political/etc. account services.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other business units to ensure alignment and seamless execution of strategies.
- Prepare regular reports and presentations for company leadership, highlighting progress and areas for improvement.
- Ensure effective resource allocation and succession planning within the business unit.
- Perform tasks across all levels of the organization, including filling capacity gaps when necessary.
- Develop budgets and financial plans for the business unit including performance metrics.
- Monitor expenditures and ensure effective resource allocation to maximize returns.
Business Development & Client Success (50%)
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development and growth strategies aligned with BCom’s goals and objectives.
- Seek out and actively engage new business opportunities to meet BCom’s annual operating budget goals.
- Leverage your existing professional networks for the benefit and growth of the firm.
- Work with the COO to identify best time allocation for the CEO as it relates to pitching, business development and PR opportunities.
- Act as the primary contact for key client accounts, ensuring high satisfaction and retention through strong relationships and understanding client needs..
- Oversee service delivery to clients, addressing and resolving escalated issues promptly and identifying opportunities for expanding services to drive growth.
- Collaborate with internal teams for seamless service delivery, staying ahead of digital trends to integrate innovative approaches for maximizing campaign effectiveness.
- Represent the company at industry events to build brand awareness and cultivate relationships with key clients, partners, and industry influencers.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of business development and sales strategies.

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $156,000 base (Due to the significant business development scope of this role, additional performance-based compensation will be considered along with our standard annual bonus program)
This position can also be remote or based in our Lincoln, NE headquarters.
