Headache in the Workplace - YP Development Event
Thursday, February 27, 2025 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (CST)
Description
Migraine headache affects approximately 18% of the US population between the ages of 18 & 44. Headache in the workplace significantly impacts both workers and employers, leading to lost productivity and increased costs. Studies show that presenteeism - when employees work when unwell - due to migraine is estimated to be 3 to 10 times more costly than absenteeism - missing work due to not feeling well - due to migraine. Despite its disabling nature and prevalence, migraine remains vastly undertreated and underdiagnosed.
Dr. Soh, a neurologist and headache specialist, will lead an informative discussion on headache disorders, their impact in the workplace, and actionable steps employers and employees can take to address these challenges. By raising awareness of this neurological disorder, stigma can be reduced, and guidance can be provided for those who suffer from headache disorders, as well as those who work alongside them.
