Description

Diversity education is a crucial step in achieving economic equity and inclusiveness for all. The CODE Education Series will help you gain the understanding and skills you need to lead change at your workplace. Whether your company has an existing strategy or needs to develop its diversity, equity, and inclusion practices, this series is a great way to expand your knowledge and acquire new tools.

Join us for DEI Fundamentals. This two-part virtual workshop will allow attendees to learn more about their socialization and social identities, conscious and unconscious biases, and develop the language to discuss diversity issues productively. The workshop will also provide attendees the opportunity to build relationships through intentional engagements with their fellow attendees. DEI Fundamentals is an introductory level course for managers, HR professionals, and organizational leaders who want to develop a solid foundation as they engage in DEI work.

Training I: Building Awareness (90 min)
November 10th; 10:30 am – 12:00 pm

This training session will build a foundation for:

• Understanding identity 
• Building language for diversity, inclusion, equity, justice 
• Creating cultural awareness 
• Developing the business case for inclusion & equity 

Training II: Unconscious Bias & Inclusion in the Workplace (90 mins)*
November 17th; 10:30 am – 12:00 pm 

This training session will dive deeper to: 

• Discover and acknowledge our bias 
• Identify microaggressions 
• Define action steps towards becoming better allies & advocates
