Omaha EmPower Breakfast

In 2001, the US Small Business Administration partnered with the Omaha (Nebraska) Chamber of Commerce to begin the Omaha Empowerment Breakfast. It was formed to provide local businesses with insightful speakers and a non-commercial meeting in order to build relationships and opportunities for networking.

In 2024, having rebuilt attendance and revived growth post Covid pandemic, the decision was made to begin offering events in other cities. Renamed the emPower Breakfast, Michael McKee and Jim Barger began by staying true to the principles the Breakfast was founded on: Access for everyone, a culture with no hidden agenda, and the best speakers in the community. We've made it possible for almost anyone to bring an emPower Breakfast to their community by developing a proprietary automated database system and documenting a proven system of attendance and profitability.
