She is committed and clear in advocating for her clients. April spent nearly ten years working for the Douglas County Public Defender where she worked tirelessly to defend indigent individuals accused of crimes ranging from simple misdemeanors to homicides. She also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Michael McCormack of the Nebraska Supreme Court, which provided her with invaluable experience handling appeals.
