SUMMARY:Employer Coalition (POWER Series) - Transitions: A Practice in Vulnerability
DESCRIPTION:Leadership transitions are inevitable\, but they don't have to be chaotic. In this session\, Zedeka Poindexter will share hard-earned lessons from navigating changes in leadership structure (such as moving from co-leadership to a single ED)\, transitions from founding leadership\, and shifts in organizational size. Together with attendees\, she will explore the role of culture\, communication\, and planning in creating smoother transitions\, and reflect on what changes require a mindset shift versus a values shift. Participants will leave with real tools\, shared language\, and strategies to approach transitions with clarity and care.Zedeka Poindexter BioZedeka Poindexter brings over 20 years of corporate leadership experience to her current role as a nonprofit Executive Director\, a position she's held for the past three years. Her transition into the nonprofit sector allowed her to merge her strategic corporate background with her lifelong passion for the arts and community building. As part of the Nebraska Writers Collective\, Zedeka is committed to helping others find and strengthen their voices through creative expression and leadership development. Outside of her professional life\, Zedeka enjoys cooking\, gardening\, and spending quality time with her family. She also carves out space to nurture her own artistic practice\, believing deeply in the power of both personal and collective creativity.
